Although one shouldn't judge a restaurant on its specials, the specials are excellent choices. This cozy little restaurant provides delicious gourmet comfort food. Don't expect to eat and have room for dessert and be ready to chow down somewhere else. The dinners are substantial.
True Kansas City style sauce is never sweet. Gates has a strong black pepper tang, Bryant's is gritty with paprika and has the heat of cayenne pepper. I like both of these sauces but Mr. Harris had the best blend. His sauce was tomato rich, had a vinegar tang and a pepper bite but was smooth and surprisingly delicate. Too bad, Mr. Harris died in the mid Seventies and took his sauce with him.
For dinner I had the Moussaka, a baked eggplant with spiced beef topped with Bechamel sauce. It was quite good and was $13.00. Hubby had lamb shanks slow cooker , he loves Lamb and I rarely make it at home. That was a reasonable $14.99 for a good size portion but he had to order sides as well. They offer Salmon and Shrimp as well as TIlapia. You can also go Italian they have a long list of Italian selections.I can't imagine going to a Greek restaurant for Italian food but there must be a demand for it or it wouldn't be on the menu. Still, it seemed odd.
The first person to seem to when you are trying to find new chicken recipes is your mother. Each mom - or father, if he was once the one who cooked on your circle of relatives - has a minimum of one hen recipe that she cherishes primarily else. For my mom, it used to be her chicken lamb curry. It was once absolutely delicious. It had chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, tons of turmeric, and of course a spicy curry sauce. She taught it to me once I went off to school, and I have been cooking it ever since. This is a mainstay of my diet.
Rack of lamb - Like shoulder meat, rack is also believed to be the fatty portion of meat. The fat layer present on the lamb rack is at times regarded fine when meat is being roasted seeing that fat melts with high temperature and delivers dampness to the meat. This is in addition the major cut of the meat of lamb and in general three persons are able to be fed on 1 rack. Grilling and roasting are the ideal techniques of cooking rack.

These (Turkish) Mediterranean delights are more vegetable and grain based. Where as my favored Greek dishes have quick lamb curry and cheese. I was intrigued and in a hurry so I decided to get a carry out of the spinach pie and the falafel dinner.
